Michelle Chamuel - the U-M grad who fronted Ella Riot/My Dear Disco and came in second place on the most recent season of "The Voice" - plans to release a 10 song album in September, according to her Facebook page.

Chamuel wrote, on July 23, about her recent trip to Atlanta to spend time with her "Voice" coach, Usher: "Usher and his kick-butt manager, Grace, made time to listen to the music I've been working on. It was great to get their feedback and feel their support. It makes me even more excited to release this album!

"'When do we get to hear this music?' you ask. Well, I've decided to release it in September. There's a lot of work to finish before then, but that's the plan! The album has 10 tracks and is currently in mastering."

You can hear snippets from the in-the-works album at Chamuel's fan page, which is maintained by Chamuel's cousin.

Finally, Chamuel also recently posted a clip of her performing a Weepies cover, "Somebody Loved."

I replaced the photo we originally published with this article with the cover image for Chamuel's upcoming album, "All I Want," which she posted on her FB page on Tuesday, August 13.

More specific info was posted on Chamuel's FB page on Tuesday, August 13: "On September 10, 2013 - I will be releasing my first entirely self-produced album as The Reverb Junkie (my solo electronic project). This album is quite different from anything I've done before. Every sound came through my mind. All voices you hear come from me. All the notes were played by me (though some birds outside and floor creaking make a cameo - if you listen closely). "For this album, I wrote and recorded full songs, then went back and selected my favorite parts - significant words/notes/syllables/etc - and left only those parts. I got to use my voice as an instrument and play with the different sounds it can make. I wrote melodies on bass, piano, strings, synthesizer, guitar, organ, and glockenspiel. I acted like my own choir. I programmed drums to get you to nod your head where the music makes me feel like nodding my head. I kept writing and re-arranging, adding and taking away, until it sounded just how I wanted it to. "This album is called 'All I Want.' It's what I've wanted to make for a long time now. I'm so excited to be able to share it with you."

I'll be interested to see the range of music styles on the album. It was neat to see her take on such a variety of songs on "The Voice" - you really got the sense that she was stretching beyond her comfort zone and finding she could do more than even she realized. Should be fun to hear what she selects for her first solo album.

Why do people sign in to read a story they're not interested in and then complain that it's not interesting to them?!

Because they're not very bright and feel the need to advertise it to the world.

@Jenn, somewhere in between reading the headline and waiting for the server to respond to the click.

Did you fall asleep before or after clicking on this story to decide it wasn't newsworthy? ;)

Really, this is news? Maybe if she actually releases an album, and it sells, then we have news. slow news day apparently.

Lots of local fans - myself included - are anxious to hear about what Chamuel plans to do next, following her strong performance on "The Voice." September is fast approaching, but if she manages to get the album out then, it will cash in on the anticipation surrounding her newest project.
