The (upcoming) year in theater at Ann Arbor high schools

The Huron Players of Huron High School will offer "Bloody Bess: A Tale of Piracy and Revenge," by William J. Norris and John Ostrander, November 2-3, 9-10 at 7:30 p.m.; "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940," by John Bishop, January 17-19 at 7:30 p.m.; Shakespeare's "MacBeth," April 26-27 and May 3-4 at 7:30 p.m.; "Finale! 2013," May 30-31 at 7:30 p.m. All performances occur in HHS's New Theater, at 2727 Fuller Rd. in Ann Arbor.
Pioneer High's Theatre Guild, meanwhile, will offer the musical "Ragtime" November 3, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m., November 4 and 11 at 2 p.m. (tickets $15, or $10 for students and seniors); popular annual talent show "FutureStars 2013," on January 11-12 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with the finals scheduled January 19 at 7:30 p.m.; "James and the Giant Peach" on February 1-2 at 7:30 p.m.; a TBD spring musical April 27-28, and May 3-5; and "Student Productions 2013," a student showcase of original work, May 17-18 at 7:30 p.m. All shows take place at PHS's Little Theater, 601 W. Stadium Blvd. in Ann Arbor.
Skyline High School's Theatre will present Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," November 2-3 at 7:30 p.m., November 4 at 2:30 p.m.; Jon Jory's "Darcy and Elizabeth: An Adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice,'" February 2 at 7:30 p.m.; the musical "Aida" April 19-20 at 7:30 p.m., and April 20-21 at 2:30 p.m.; and "2013 Senior One Act" on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. All shows take place at SHS, at 2552 North Maple Road in Ann Arbor.
Community High School's theater line-up features: Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's classic musical "Evita," November 1-4; Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," March 14-17; and "Just Desserts: Short Plays, Monologues and Songs," May 9-11. Tickets available in advance at www.showtix4u.com, or at the door, with all performances at CHS at 401 N. Division in Ann Arbor.
Greenhills School's theater line-up includes Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," November 9-10 at 7:30 p.m. and November 11 at 2 p.m. (tickets $10 for students/seniors, $12 general); "The Phantom Tollbooth," December 7-8 at 7:30 p.m., and December 9 at 2 p.m. ($5/$10); "Voodoo Theatre," a showcase of student work, happens February 2 at 7 p.m. ($5); and "Kiss Me Kate," March 22-23 at 7:30 p.m., and March 24 at 2 p.m. ($12/$14). All performances happen at 850 Greenhills Drive in Ann Arbor.
