Michigan Theater/Sundance Film Festival event tickets on sale Friday
The Michigan Theater recently announced that it will be one of eight theaters around the country participating in a new initiative called Sundance Film Festival U.S.A. During the 2010 Festival, running January 21-31, eight filmmakers and their films will be dispatched from Park City, Utah — where their work will be premiering — to these selected theaters, so that film fans in far-flung areas can get a taste of what's happening at Sundance.
Reserved seats for this event, happening on Thursday, January 28 at the Michigan Theater, are $15 and go on sale Friday, December 4 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster and all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Michigan Union Ticket Office and Macy’s stores. Charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
An introduction video featuring Robert Redford and highlights from the festival will precede the screenings. An announcement about the film and the filmmaker that will be traveling to Ann Arbor will take place shortly after the festival’s overall programming announcement in December.

Congratulations to Russ Collins and the Michigan Theater for this honor - one of only eight theaters in the country selected to participate.
