Confident & assured, she runs a tight and successful organization. She is married to an HR manager (Tim Grimes) and her daughter (Dana Denha) is about to be wed. But, as she describes to her close employee (Brad Sharp), she does not approve of her daughter’s fiancé, is extremely uneasy at home, and is determined to stop her daughter’s wedding! When something shocking and unexpected happens, however, Emily is called to re-examine what she cherishes most - and her family and friends must also closely reexamine their relationship to her. The result is, according to New York 1, “a play about love (both parental and marital), health and friendship .. beautifully conceived.” Do not miss the Midwest premiere of this acclaimed family drama by the author of The Receptionist. Four lost New Englanders enroll in Marty (Liz Greaves-Hoxie)’s six-week community-center drama class and begin to experiment with harmless theatre games. During the touching hilarity that ensues, hearts are quietly torn apart, and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. The play was voted one of the top ten plays of 2009 by The New York Times, Time Out New York, and The New Yorker and won the 2010 Obie Award for Best New American Play. The talented Redbud cast includes Tim Grimes, Madeline Maxey and Jenna Naert. Performances will take place at Kerrytown Concert House. General Tickets for either play are $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors; (limited front row café table seating is available for groups of 2 - 3 for $25 a seat; also - there is a special group rate general seating price of $15 per ticket for groups of 10 or more).
