Purple Rose Theatre to hold Backyard Barbecue fundraiser

The Purple Rose Theatre Company will hold a Backyard Barbecue Fundraiser on Saturday, August 11, beginning at 5 p.m. The barbecue will feature a catered meal with vegetarian options; beer and wine; live music from Rhythm on a Stick Steel Drum Band; and a silent auction. The event will be held in the parking lot behind The Purple Rose Theatre, at 137 Park Street in Chelsea.

Ticket prices are $60 and $100 per guest. For $60, guests can attend the barbecue and silent auction from 5-7:45 p.m. For $100, guests can attend the barbecue, silent auction, and also receive a ticket for the 8 p.m. performance of "On Golden Pond," followed by a dessert and coffee reception. Catering will be provided by The Moveable Feast and Back to the Roots Cafe.

Various actors from the 2012-13 Season will attend the barbecue and will be available for questions and conversations about their upcoming performances. Auction items will include a Detroit Lions football autographed by quarterback Matthew Stafford; an autographed and framed Ndamukong Suh Detroit Lions’ jersey; a Cavanaugh Lake party with dinner, drinks, and a pontoon ride for six; a fall beer tasting and tour for four at the Chelsea Alehouse Brewery; a vintage stove from the PRTC production of "A Stone Carver"; and a variety of gift certificates, golf packages, and summer fun items.
