Enjoy a Pete Seeger tribute concert or take the kids to the theater

See "The Cricket in Times Square" performed by the Wild Swan Theater at the Towsley Auditorium on the WCC campus this week. Today and Friday: 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 2 p.m. Based on George Selden’s classic children’s tale of life in 1930s New York City. A cat, a mouse and a cricket are the heroes in this charming story as they save the Bellini family’s business from collapse. FILM

The "Jewish Film Festival" wraps up at the Michigan Theater today. Films include, "Sholem Aleichem: Laughing in the Darkness," at 5 p.m. "Mabul (The Flood)" at 8 p.m. $10 per screening. The theater is at 603 E. Liberty St., Ann Arbor. 734-668-8397.

FOOD

Get ready for a little "Shiraz-A-Ma-Taz" at Vinology. 6 p.m. This event features a five-course dinner paired with Australian wines. MUSIC

The Ark will host "For Pete's Sake: A Pete Seeger Birthday Tribute." 8 p.m. They'll tell stories and lead lots of singalongs. This year's performance features Chris Buhalis, Gemini, Mustard's Retreat, Sally Potter, Dick Siegel and Paul Tinkerhess. $10. The Ark is at 316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor. 734-761-1800.

COMEDY

See the “laziest comic in America,” Nick Gaza, at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase. Today at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Gaza makes fun of everyone and anyone else that gets in his sights. His comedy knows no boundaries so be warned. But if you’re the kind of person who laughs at things you know you shouldn't then this show is a must see. Tonight: $8 in advance; $10 at the door.
