Cool Cone: Perfect summer gadget

By Tammy Mayrend

My husband affectionately calls me the "Gadget Guru" of our family - I LOVE products that seemingly make life simpler or more fun. I also love to read catalogs and anxiously await their arrival to "fantasy shop" through them.

In one of the catalogs I saw Cool Cones - Re-usable ice cream scoop serving cones. Scoop the ice cream up, put it in the freezer for storage in this contraption or eat ice cream from the "push-up" style plastic cone. I thought "Gee, we wouldn't have any more stale ice cream cones from our infrequent ice cream nights..."

When I was visiting my brother recently I actually found Cool Cones in a kitchen gadget store, and yes, I bought them. I mean HOW could I resist?! I'll admit it too, I actually really like them!

Pros: Easy to use, Any age can use the cones, use to scoop the ice cream directly from the container, and they

come with a top for freezer storage. The best part is that there are no more stale ice cream cones hanging around!

Cons: The freezer storage tops are easy to loose and the product itself is a little pricey (I paid $5 for 2 in a resort town). They would be ultimately "cool" if they were made of recycled materials too!

All in all, I would rate this product 5 out of 5 stars. This is especially true since my three-year-old likes to ask for ice cream, take two bites, then want to put it back in the freezer to eat later!

Cool Cones can be found to purchaser online at Organize.com, but I would also suggest checking out your local kitchen-gadget store!
