New Wagon Wreck Music Festival closing in on Kickstarter funding goal

By Bob Needham

Update: The drive reached its goal Sunday night.

A new Ann Arbor music festival planned for next month is closing in on its goal in a Kickstarter funding drive, with a deadline of Sunday night.

Local roots band Dragon Wagon is organizing the event, dubbed the Wagon Wreck Music Festival. Planned for Dec. 14 and 15 at Live nightclub on South First Street, the festival will feature a number of local acts on a bill described as "two days of roots, rock, bluegrass, jam bands and regional music."

As of Friday afternoon, the festival was more than 80 percent of the way to its goal of $5,000 to fund the festival. Under the Kickstarter model, the entire goal of a project must be pledged for it to go forward. The deadline is 9 p.m. Sunday.

For more information or to become one of the backers, see the festival's Kickstarter page.
