Two iconic names in New Orleans music, the Neville Brothers and Dr. John, come to Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater for a concert on Wednesday, February 17. Tickets go on sale Saturday to the general public.

Sometimes called the "First Family of New Orleans music," R&B group the Neville Brothers are led by the sweet voice of Aaron Neville. The individual brothers have enjoyed success both as solo acts (Aaron's hits have included "Tell It Like It Is" and "Everybody Plays the Fool") and as a group (including 1989's "Sister Rosa"). The group also features Art Neville, leader of New Orleans legends The Meters, along with Charles Neville on saxophones and Cyril Neville on percussion.

Dr. John (Mac Rebennack), playing with his band the Lower 911, is the blues-funk pianist best remembered for his pop hit "Right Place, Wrong Time" (which featured the Meters). But he's been an active part of the New Orleans music scene since the late 1950s, steadily releasing albums and building his legend.

The concert, cosponsored by the Michigan Theater and The Ark, is slated for February 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which range from $29.50 to $75, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations, including the Michigan Union Ticket Office and Macy’s at Briarwood Mall. Tickets can be charged by phone at 800-745-3000. Ticketmaster lists a "subscriber presale" starting at 10 a.m. Thursday but does not list any further information.
