"Movies at the Mansion" returns to Dexter this week

By Jenn McKee

This year's "Movies at the Mansion" - a series of free outdoor movies in Dexter - kicks off this Thursday, June 17 with "Night at the Museum 2."

MATM patrons will watch movies under the stars on the back lawn of Gordon Hall, located at 8341 Island Lake Road in Dexter. The grounds open at 8:30 p.m., but the entrance gates close at 9:15 p.m., and the films begin at 9:30 p.m.

Parking costs $10, and patrons should bring their own blankets and chairs. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

In addition to "Museum" this Thursday, other upcoming movies in the series include "The Sound of Music" on Thursday, July 8 (a sing-along event featuring Encore Musical Theatre Company performers), and "How to Train Your Dragon" on Thursday, August 12.
