Stephanie Jass is on a roll.

The Milan resident, a history professor at Adrian College, was the champion on the syndicated TV game show "Jeopardy!" Wednesday for the third straight time.

Jass cruised ahead of her two challengers for most of the match, ending the "Double Jeopardy" round with winnings of $22,200, compared to $6,000 for her closest competitor.

Jass missed the "Final Jeopardy" question, but had only wagered $3,000, so she won $19,200 for the night. That brings her total winnings to $66,770.

Jass continues her run on tonight's episode. "Jeopardy!" airs at 7:30 p.m. on WDIV, chanel 4 in Detroit.

Is she the lady who likes to go in the dryer or am I thinking of a different recent contestant?

I was listening to a sirius/xm radio show today and, ironically, one of the contestants that Ms. Jass defeated is a brother to one of the co-hosts. It was entertaining listening to the radio hosts make fun, in a light-hearted way, of how badly she beat the brother. I'll tune it tonight to see what they were talking about.

I think she is absolutely delightful and very knowledgeable -- best wishes to her continued success.

Pressing the signalling button with perfect timing is the primary skill needed on Jeopardy. Many of the contestants know the questions (answers), but the quick thumb separates the men from the boys (or in this the case, the woman from the girls)

Anybody can push a button fast. It's pushing it and answering the question correctly is where champions are made.

She is definitely the most dominant champion of the new season. Very quick on the signalling button, which is an underrated skill in this game. She's making her opponents look pretty bad - and every one of them has to pass a fairly tough test just to get an audition. It's nice to see a local do so well. And she's one of those few people who can be enthusiastic and happy without being one of those silly jumping beans you see on the random game shows. Alex clearly likes her a lot - she's good for the show.

She messed up two nights ago. She went into Final Jeopardy leading both opponents by about $20,000. Instead of betting that amount (she got the Final Jeopardy question correct), she punted and bet a couple grand. Weak. Otherwise, good luck.

Let it ride!

Hey, come on. After the first win, which covers the travel expenses, it's all gambling with found money, so there's no time to form an attachment to it. This is not investment banking, it's supposed to be fun, and a little thrilling. After that first win, bet the farm, every time. If you win, you win big. If you lose, smile as you collect your lovely parting gifts and go home.

No, GoNavy, you just don't understand how gambling works. Yes, she could have done what you suggested. But the thing is, when you're so far ahead of your opponents that you can't be caught, you are all of a suddenly playing with your OWN MONEY. Stephanie very wisely chose not to gamble with $20K that was already going to be hers whether she got the answer correct or not. Your plan is built on greed. Hers is built on wisdom. And moving on to a 4th day with nearly 70K in her pocket? I'd say her plan's working out pretty well.

That;s not "messing up" - that's playing cautiously. She also does not bet "true daily doubles".

You people either didn't read what I wrote, or you don't understand the game. Ms. Jass could have bet $20k, *lost it* and still come out ahead of both of her competitors - even even if they had bet everything they had.

She hardly messed up. Funny thing about gambling... if you choose not to, you can't lose.

I'm puzzled why you would expect her to bet so much. $20k is a huge amount of money and FJ is typically one of their hardest questions. Why not secure the money as well as the win?

And last night she went in $16K ahead, bet $3K and lost it. Your point is?
