The Michigan Theater will pay homage to Charlie Chaplin through a selection of newly restored 35mm prints being shown on Mondays at 7 p.m., starting Feb. 7 and running through April 25.

This special retrospective starts with the 1925 silent classic "The Gold Rush," which follows the lovable Tramp to Alaska in his search for fortune. The opening evening also features the 1918 film "A Dog's Life." The Charlie Chaplin Film Series at the Michigan Theater will be showcased in the manner it was always intended: All films will be presented in the historic main theater and will be introduced with live music from the Theater's 1927 Barton organ.

Regular admission rates apply, and the complete schedule includes:

I love Chaplin movies. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized just how great they are. They also used to be very easy to obtain - I would get them at the library where I lived. I would encourage attending these events. What better is there to do on a Monday?

That's awesome! I love silent movies and still miss the silent movie Sundays that they had back in the day. Thanks MT!

The Circus and The Kid are two very underrated Chaplin films. The Great Dictator is painful to watch.
