A documentary by Ann Arbor filmmaker Sophia Kruz about her father's journey to come out as a gay man was nominated for an award at the Great Lakes International Film Festival.

The movie, "Time Dances On," was nominated for Best Gay/Lesbian Film at the festival, which took place over the weekend in Erie, Penn. The festival has an online component under which the movies can be seen online through Saturday for $1.49.

"The documentary is about my father, an Ann Arbor local, who came out at the age of 48, and how our family dealt with this revelation. It is a heartwarming and inspiring film, and I am excited to share it's messages of love and acceptance with a large audience this week," Kruz wrote in an email.

Watch the movie on the festival website, and for more information, see Kruz's website about the film.
