Theater fans can get a glimpse behind the scenes of Performance Network Theatre’s production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's "Little Shop of Horrors" on Sunday, May 2 at 4:15 p.m., following the 2 p.m. matinee performance.
Patrons will be part of an in-depth discussion with director Carla Milarch; musical director R. MacKenzie Lewis; set, costumes and properties designer, Monika Essen; and members of the cast, including B. J. Love (Mr. Mushnik) and Naz Edwards (Audrey II).
Attendees will learn about the “page to stage” process, hear the choices behind the production team's decision to replace the traditional puppet plant with an actor, experience the critical moments, and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10. They can be ordered by calling 734-663-0681, or visiting the Performance Network website or the box office at 120 East Huron Street. (Tickets for the 2 p.m. matinee performance of "Shop" on Sunday are not necessary to attend this Behind the Scenes event.)
