Emily Blunt and Jason Segel will be in Ann Arbor to shoot the feature film comedy, "The Five Year Engagement."

BeforeTheTrailer.com reports that a new feature film called "The Five Year Engagement," starring Jason Segel ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "How I Met Your Mother") and Emily Blunt ("The Young Victoria" and "The Devil Wears Prada"), will soon be filming in the Ann Arbor area, and University of Michigan Film Office director Lee Doyle confirmed the information Monday morning via e-mail.

"Yes, the film is set in Ann Arbor, and includes several University of Michigan scenes, so we have been working with the production to identify locations," Doyle wrote. "We are looking forward to working on what looks like a well-written romantic comedy."

In a 2008 interview with ComingSoon.net, Segel offered these bits of info about the film.

"'Five Year Engagement' is another movie that I'm writing with Nick Stoller, the director of ('Forgetting Sarah Marshall'). Nick will direct it and I'll star in it for Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures. It's sort of our follow up to this. It's not a sequel in any capacity, but it's exploring a relationship over five years and how something starts out so strong can change over time."

"It's a couple who gets engaged in their early 20s and follows them through five years of cross-country moves and fighting and break ups and dating other people and getting back together and seeing if they can ultimately pull it together to get married."

According to the BeforeTheTrailer.com, "Universal Pictures signed space at 4401 Varsity Drive (in) Ann Arbor, Mchigan (last occupied by the 'Scream 4' crew) and will start moving in film crew this week, on Feb 1st."

Kay Seaser, the film liaison for the Ann Arbor Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, said via e-mail, "I can confirm they are scouting our area. But I cannot confirm … that they signed a lease."

Stay tuned for more updates.

My fiancee and I are now in our late 20's but have been engaged for over five years - I'm sure we're going to see this movie on opening night, lol.

Whoa, who is the guy in the picture? Either Jason Segel went on a crash diet, or somebody took an airbrush to the photo.
