Japanese art fair a success, with help from Ann Arbor
"It's been another great day in Yokohama. It's hard to believe we're halfway around the globe. Â

"From all reports it was a resounding success. The weather was lovely each of the three days and the setting by the harbor in Yamashita Park was amazing. By this morning each participating artist was on the sales toteboard. This afternoon was quite busy with enthusiastic patrons and families with kids making art in the activity area. "The city of Yokohama is quite beautiful, especially the series of parks along the waterfront which are heavily used by everyone on the weekends. The city leaders we met talked about their community as the creative city and several of the artists who visit Ann Arbor regularly found similarities between the two towns. We've all enjoyed learning about all the similarities and differences between the two cultures and the mechanics of daily life. For example, in Japan almost everything is available by vending machine, and it's really good! "Tomorrow many of the artists and visitors will begin a couple of days touring the area together on trips graciously arranged by our hosts. "All the best to the townies in Ann Arbor! "Shary"
