Ann Arbor Concert Band will open its season by featuring 'Innovation and Meditation'
The historic Michigan Theater will provide the backdrop for a contemplative musical experience while listening to Ann Arbor Concert Band’s season opening concert, “Innovation and Meditation.”
Listeners of all ages are invited to enjoy a thought-provoking repertoire showcased at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 7.
A native of Ann Arbor and a University of Michigan alum, James Nissen, will conduct great music by Arnold, Gershwin, Giannini, Jacob, Stamp and Sousa. The concert will also feature a new work for band by Satoshi Yagisawa titled “Machu Picchu: City in the Sky.”
The Ann Arbor Concert Band is a fully volunteer organization and has been dedicated to bringing the arts to the community by providing professional-quality performances for the past 32 years.
