Indian folk dance competition at the Michigan Theater on Saturday

On Saturday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m., the University of Michigan Raas Association will hold its 11th annual intercollegiate Raas Competition, known as Dandia Dhamaka, at the Michigan Theater.

Raas is a traditional and powerful form of Indian folk dance that expresses the richness of Indian culture in a colorful and vibrant fashion. Dandia Dhamaka will consist of 8 teams from various universities across the United States, along with an audience nearly 1,500 people, and a special performance by the Michigan Bhangra Team. All proceeds for this year's show go to Mott's Children Hospital.
