with video: Huron High's Bella Bizelle wins online competition to get her video in rotation on MTVU
MTVU runs a weekly "Freshmen" competition to find new talent with online votes, and Bizelle's "You'll Never Know" became this week's winner Friday afternoon. In announcing the win, MTVU wrote, "It was a pretty close 4-way race between Bella Bizelle, Cameron, Soft Swells and Sophia Bastian most of this week but Bella pulled ahead big time in the end to win this week’s Freshmen."
MTVU will now put the video into its regular rotation.
Williams records for Frontstreet Records, a regionally based label with lots of Ann Arbor ties. Frontstreet Vice President Odell Palacio said on Friday he's confident a lot of Williams' votes came from the Ann Arbor community, and he expressed deep gratitude for all the local sources of support.
Palacio also noted that Williams' mother passed away not long ago, and Monday will mark her birthday. So the video going national that week has some extra meaning: "To us, this is symbolic of a lot of things."
