happening Today: Gather wool at the Fleece Fair and join Chefs in the Garden today

CRAFTS

It's time for the Spinner's Flock Annual Fall Fleece Fair at Beach Middle School in Chelsea. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The group will be offering supplies and equipment utilized by handspinners, knitters, weavers, felters and other fiber enthusiasts. Free admission. 445 Mayer Drive, Chelsea. 734-433-2202.

PLANES

Today is the last day the Flying Pilgrims Radio Control Club will celebrate with a "29th Anniversary" event at Flying Pilgrims Trail. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pilots will break at noon so that the audience can view the planes up close. The airplanes to be displayed and flown are referred to as “Giant Scale.” The model must be at least one-fourth the size of the real aircraft. There are both turbine jet and propeller driven models. $5 parking donation. The northwest corner of Geddes and Ridge Roads. 734-207-3626.

MUSIC

Enjoy "Music in the Arb" in Nichols Arboretum. 1-4 p.m. It will be an afternoon of world music in different areas of the Arb featuring Argentine music, gamelan and a Philippine ensemble. Enjoy local cuisine at Growing Hope’s "Chefs in the Garden" dinner at the Growing Hope Center. 5-8 p.m. Chefs Silvio (Silvio's Organic Ristorante and Pizzeria) and Benjamin Meyer (Iridescence at the Motor City Casino). The theme is Sustainability. Celebrate the sustainability of the Growing Hope Center and tour the innovative green features of our headquarters and urban farm. FUNDRAISER

Go "Bowling For Charity" to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America at Colonial Lanes Bowling Center. 5-7 p.m. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, Strike Ball and more. $18 for adults and $13 for children 14 and under.
