The Ann Arbor Stamp Show returns and Dick Siegel plays The Ark

Ann Arbor CIL's Annual Gala Benefit with Silent and Live Auctions will be held at the University of Michigan’s North Campus Research Complex (formerly Pfizer) on Friday. 5:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Dinner and dessert will be provided. There will be silent and live auctions and a live jazz band. All proceeds go to support the Ann Arbor CIL’s vital community program for children, youth, adults and seniors with disabilities. $75 (or $50 for earlybird registration). annarborcilgala.eventbrite.com. STAMPS

The Ann Arbor Stamp Show returns to the Morris Lawrence Building on the Washtenaw Community College campus. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Michigan's second largest annual stamp show features 28 dealers from nine states and Canada with US and foreign stamps, postal history, and supplies for collectors. The show also has 40 frames of exhibits, a youth area with free stamps for beginners, and food sales bythe Association for Community Advocacy. There's still time to celebrate fall at "Coleman’s Corn Maze," at least through Sunday. Friday, 6-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday, noon-9 p.m. An all-ages corn maze cut in an elaborate Titanic theme. There is also a petting zoo, a kiddie maze, hayrides, bonfires, a giant hay pile for climbing and more. Cider and donuts available. $10. $5/kids ages 5-10. Veteran local singer-songwriter Dick Siegel & the Brandos will play The Ark on Saturday. 8 p.m. Siegel is a versatile composer whose songs offer all sorts of immediate musical and lyrical pleasures, both serious and comic, as well as a resonant staying power. His acoustic trio includes Brian Delaney on guitar and Dave Roof on bass, trumpet and harmony vocals.
