While his boss is in the limelight, Eve's sous chef gets some attention of his own
Max Sussman, the sous chef at the Ann Arbor restaurant Eve, gets a plug in the Washington Examiner today for the book "Freshman in the Kitchen: From Clueless Cook to Creative Chef," which he wrote with his brother Eli.
The article notes the restaurant has been packed since owner Eve Aronoff's selection as a contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef," except that it calls the show "Iron Chef," a program on the Food Network.
The book, published in 2008, emphasizes good food that you can make easily, just the ticket for the college student or anyone who wants to eat well but doesn't have a lot of time or money to invest in the process.
Sussman's tips include things like, "get the freshest ingredients you can find" and "use olive oil or organic butter to build flavor."
Sussman tells the Examiner the benefits of cooking for yourself include better health, cost savings and an improved social life (if you cook for your friends or your date).

It looks like this would be the perfect book to send off with your son/daughter for college (providing they've left the dorm/meal ticket stage).
