Nominate your favorite area restaurants for Michigan's Best Breakfast Joint

By Jessica Webster

MiB-webpicmap.jpg
MLive entertainment reporter John Gonzalez is on the hunt for Michigan's Best Breakfast Joint, and we here at AnnArbor.com think that Washtenaw County has some pretty strong contenders for the title.

We're looking for your suggestions for the best morning meal in the area. Whether you're enamored of their poached eggs, chocolate-chip pancakes, southern omelette or crispy bacon, we want to hear about it. Post your nominees in the comments below. If there's a particular dish that you love at the restaurant, let us know about that too.

We'll take your responses here and on the original post from Friday morning and create a poll on Friday. Make sure to come back and vote. Gonzo will be visiting our top reader favorites and will weigh them against the best breakfasts from across the state to determine the winner of Michigan’s Best Breakfast Joint.

Nick's House of Pancakes. Their various pancakes and french toast creations are phenomenal. Their skillets are filled with fresh local ingredients. I'm a fan of the Artie's stuffed french toast which has a cream cheese based filling with blackberries. My wife favors the Fat Elvis french toast which has bacon, bananas, and peanut butter in between two Texas style pieces of french toast.

Went to Nick's for the first time this weekend, and I was not impressed. The food was okay at best but the service was slow. Some of our food sat in the window for over 10 minutes.

Wolverine Grill In Ypsi. The last two Sundays I had a mac and cheese omelet. Are you kidding me? The mac and cheese was not Kraft, either. It came with roasted potatoes and a side of collard greens and kale.

I love Beezy's! "Simple honest food" is such a perfect tagline for that restaurant.
