Open just since last spring, Mani Osteria is a relative newcomer on the Ann Arbor restaurant scene, but it has already made a big splash nationally. Detroit Free Press critic Sylvia Rector named it one of the10 best new Metro Detroit restaurants, and Food & Wine listed the Mani as one of the top new pizza restaurants in the world.
Mani Osteria's pizzas are the focus of Travel + Leisure's write-up as well. They mention the restaurant's new clam pizza and their use of "more nuanced ingredients like pickled chilies, garlic cream, mint, chili pesto, and black truffles."
It turns out that celebrity chef Mario Batali is a fan too. He tweeted a photo from the restaurant on Saturday night, with the caption: "Loved Mani in Ann Arbor !!! Ribs w charred shishito. YUMASTE!!"
Mani Osteria is located at 341 E. Liberty St., at the corner of Division. For more, see the restaurant's website.
Do you love oatmeal? We do!
We carry a great selection of rolled, quick, organic, steel cut...pretty much any kind of oatmeal you could want! And at three of our stores, you can even grind your own oats fresh, using The Grainery oat grinder. (Ann Arbor, Northville and Commerce.)
We came across this article about healthy toppings for oatmeal this morning, and thought we'd share it with you.
We have beautiful nectarines and peaches on sale this week for $1.49 a pound, and juicy Miller Amish fresh split chicken breasts for just $1.69 a pound. (If you're a dark meat fan, we have thighs and legs for $1.49.)
We love the combination of fruit and poultry, and this nectarine bbq sauce sounds fantastic. This might be perfect summer chicken dish for the grill this weekend! (Make extra...who doesn't love leftover bbq chicken?)
We just got the nicest note from a customer, telling us how much she enjoyed a meal her boyfriend prepared for her with salmon from our stores. We <3 hearing from our customers!
