Kitchen Mailbox Peanut Butter Ball
My daughter just returned from a party where a peanut butter cheese ball was served. She raved about it ! The hostess doesn't want to divulge the recipe because she said that it wasn't hers recipe to share. Can you get the recipe? I would love to serve it for my daughter's birthday in March.
Thank you,
-A grateful reader
This recipe says that it will serve 20. I can't believe that. If you have 20 people for your party you had better make a double recipe. It goes fast.
Peanut Butter Cheese Ball from Nestle (a variation)
8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter ( not all-natural)
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups (9 ounces) Nestles Toll House Swirled milk chocolate and peanut butter morsels (I like mini-chips or chopped morsels)
Graham crackers, Teddy Grahams, vanilla wafers or Granny Smith apple slices
1. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until blended. Spoon onto a large piece of plastic wrap; bring up all four corners and twist slightly (should form a ball shape)
2. Freeze for 1 hour 30 minutes or until firm enough to keep its shape. Place morsels in a flat dish. Remove plastic wrap from ball and roll ball into morsels to completely cover. You might find it necessary to press the morsels into ball.
3. Place ball on serving dish; cover and freeze for 2 hours or until almost firm. Can be made ahead. If frozen overnight; thaw at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.
Serve with graham crackers, Teddy Grahams, vanilla wafers or Granny Smith apple slices for dipping or spreading.
