COLLECTION FINAL, 4 p.m. December 12, 2011: 203 tons

The five-day Rockin' for the Hungry food drive for Food Gatherers officially kicked off at 7 a.m. Wednesday and runs through Sunday afternoon.

Food Gatherers hopes to collect 200 tons of donated food by Sunday to distribute to those in need.

AnnArbor.com is tracking the progress toward meeting that goal on a carrot-o-meter, which will be updated regularly throughout the drive.

Throughout the event, hosts from Ann Arbor's 107one are broadcasting live outside the Kroger store at 400 S. Maple Road in shifts. Food or cash donations are being collected at all Kroger locations within Washtenaw County.
