Family Festival with the Verve Pipe coming to Main Street tonight

By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Ronald McDonald Houses of Ann Arbor will host a Family Festival of Hope Celebration this evening.

Michigan rock band The Verve Pipe will play at the free charity event, which also includes attractions like face painting, balloon animals, photo booth, surprises, and more.

Main Street is closed today between William and Liberty to accomodate the festival. This closure is in addition to a closure on Liberty between Division and Fifth for today's Sonic Lunch concert.

The festival runs from 5-9 p.m. The Verve Pipe will play starting at 7 p.m. with a set of newer music from their family album. Then, at 7:45 p.m., the band will perform some of its classic material.

For more information, see the Ronald McDonald Houses website.

Maybe they should run the Ann Arbor Marathon during the "Sonic Fest" It's great to have all of this stuff going on and I don't hear the Mayor Whining about traffic for something like this. Maybe the Marathon needs to "Save the Planet" and have a rock band so that nobody will complain about it? "Main Street is closed today between William and Liberty to accomodate the festival. Yep....closing a few blocks downtown is is same as screwing up traffic for miles of residential side streets
