Bring a lawn chair or blanket and maybe a picnic basket to Music in the Park with the Washtenaw Community Concert Band at Washtenaw Community College.

This 70-member band has chosen an eclectic program that will include music from The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, as well as Zo Elliot’s British Eighth, Sousa’s Pride of the Wolverines, patriotic tunes and Just a Closer Walk with Thee. Chris Heidenreich directs.

The players range in age from teens to seniors. Most are amateur, but have playing since throughout school and still enjoy it to this day.
