Erin Kamler, 35, who grew up in Ann Arbor, recently won an L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award for best book/music/lyrics for an original musical — namely, "Divorce! The Musical."

The awards were handed out in a ceremony on January 11, 2010, at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Previously, Kamler has won 3 Stephen Sondheim Young Playwright's Awards, as well as a 2008 Frederick Loewe Award.

"Divorce," a satirical look at the phases of a marital breakup, is in the process of fundraising for Chicago and Off-Broadway productions of the show.
