David Byrne and St. Vincent to play Michigan Theater

The Michigan Theater today announced a July 8 concert by David Byrne and St. Vincent.

Tickets cost $45 and $100, plus service charges. A presale for subscribers to the Michigan Theater email list runs 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday; tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations. Charge by phone at 800-745-3000.

Byrne, the onetime leader of iconic new-wave/alt-rock band Talking Heads, has gone on to an eclectic and acclaimed solo career. In September, he and St. Vincent released a duo album called "Love This Giant." St. Vincent, a.k.a. Annie Clark, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and singer with three solo albums who was once a member of the Polyphonic Spree.

According to today's announcement, "Love This Giant" "features a big brass band and big beats." A rave review from Huffington Post of a September concert describes a remarkable show featuring songs from the new album, solo material from both artists and some Talking Heads classics as well.
