CommuniTree project grows at Ann Arbor Art Fair

By Angela Cesere

Throughout the first three days of the Ann Arbor Art Fair, artist Leslie Sobel has been working on a special project called "CommuniTree."

Using old electrical, computer and phone cords, Sobel has created a tree sculpture on the patio at AnnArbor.com, 301 E. Liberty St. Now, the work is complete—and it's available to be sold via online auction, with the proceeds benefiting the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair.

Photographer Angela Cesere created this time-lapse record of the second and third days of work:

Bids for the finished CommuniTree are being taken on ebay. Proceeds from the sale of the work will support the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, one of four concurrent fairs that make up the Ann Arbor Art Fair.

CommuniTree is a partnership between the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, AnnArbor.com and the Milan Art Center.
