The mural, created by Mary Thiefels of TreeTown Murals, is on the south wall of the Merkel Furniture building, 205 S. Main St. in downtown Chelsea, next to the Chelsea District Library.

The unveiling was part of the season's final edition of Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights, a summerlong weekly event in Chelsea featuring street performers, art and more. The mural is funded in large part by the Chelsea Community Foundation and is also supported by the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority and the Arts Alliance Mini-Grant program and the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.

It adds nicely to that stretch of sidewalk enroute to the library. The sculptures around Chelsea have also been fun to see spring up.
