Take fido to the Walk and Wag; enjoy Ribs and Blues; take in the Picnic Pops concert

There will be a "Greyhounds Of Eastern Michigan Fundraiser" at the Chelsea Comfort Inn & Village Conference Center on Friday. Today: 4-8 p.m. Saturday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday: 7-10 a.m. Ever wanted to learn about retired racing greyhounds? Have a greyhound? Bring them along with you. There will be vendors, guest speakers, auctions, raffles, games and lots of fun-loving dogs to see. $5 for all three days. Get a complete schedule at www.gemgreyhounds.net. See "An Informal Showing Of New Dance And Video By Peter Sparling And Dutch Guest Artist Maggie Boogaart" at the Betty Pease Studio Theater on the U-M campus on Friday. 4 p.m. Sparling is joined by local dancers/choreographers Holly Hobbs and Corrine Imberski in a showing of new work that incorporates video in both process and performance. It's time again for the "Walk & Wag," now at Rolling Hills Park, on Saturday. 8 a.m. This year, the fundraiser for the Humane Society of Huron Valley kicks off with a 5k run for the first time. As always, there will be a $1,000 grand prize raffle drawing, fun performances, interactive canine games, contests, vendor tables, kids' activities and more. Walker: $30. Runner: $50. MUSIC

Enjoy "Picnic Pops" on the lawn of Pioneer High School on Saturday.10:30 a.m. This popular annual event showcases the music programs of the Ann Arbor Public Schools. United States Marine Band clarinetist Jonathon Troy will be presenting a homecoming performance. Free. PHS is at 601 W. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor. 734-994-2120.

CARS

Varsity Ford's "Annual Car Show to Benefit Mott Children's Hospital" will be held on Saturday. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The event generally has hundreds of of custom and rods. Food will be provided with a donation to Mott's. Free admission. Varsity Ford is at 3480 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor.

CARS

The "Annual Detroit Dragway Reunion" returns to the Milan Dragway on Saturday. Gates open at 9 a.m., time trials start at 10 a.m., eliminations are at 1 p.m. The event will feature the Great Lakes Gassers, Nostalgia Funny Cars and the Show-n-Shine Car Show. $10/ adults, which include full access to the pits and car show. Kids 12 and under get in free. Milan Dragway is at 10860 Plank Road, Milan.

ENTERTAINMENT

Head to the "Annual Ribs & Blues" event at Carr Park in Manchester on Saturday. 4 p.m.- midnight. Ribs, barbecue and all the trimmings will be available for purchase. There will be five great blues bands. $5 admission. Carr park is just west of downtown Manchester, off West Austin Road/Main Street.
