University of Michigan alumna, New Yorker magazine feature writer and bestselling author Susan Orlean - who, in October 2011, returned to Ann Arbor to speak and promote her book "Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend" - is starting work on a book about the Los Angeles Public Library, according to The Huffington Post.

The starting point for the book is a 1986 fire, which eventually led to the central library's expansion.
