Happening Today: Catch the Aspen Sante Fe Ballet and a cool collection of cars at WCC today

SPORTS

Come have "Breakfast with Roary," the popular Detroit Lions mascot, at St. Mary's Catholic Parish. 8:30-11 a.m. Roary will be there from 10-11 a.m. to get everyone pumped up for the Lions football season. The menu includes fried or scrambled eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes, quiche, ham, pork sausage and the renowned “waffle station.” Bring your camera. Free-will donation. SCIENCE

It's "ID Day" at the University of Michigan Natural History Museum. Noon-5 p.m. Experts in paleontology, anthropology, archaeology, botany, zoology, and geology will help identify: shells, rocks and minerals, invertebrate fossils, arrow heads, shards of pottery, vertebrate bones, insects, skulls, seeds, leaves, twigs and fish. DANCE

The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet will bring new works to the Power Center for their Ann Arbor debut. 2 p.m. Today’s program of commissioned works includes an evocative piece meant to mimic dreams and set to an eclectic score; a lush and dramatic contemporary movement with classical music by Mendelssohn and Beethoven and a sensual piece inspired by Australian aboriginal dance and culture. $18-$44. CARS

Enjoy the only show that combines cool cars and crazy motorcycles in an educational setting at Washtenaw Community College "Cars & Bikes on Campus Show." 11 a.m- 3 p.m. A display of hundreds of classic cars, trucks, hot rods and custom motorcycles. There will also be open houses in WCC’s automotive, motorcycle, welding and HVAC departments. Food and beverages available. Got a car or bike you want in the show? HISTORY

It's "Harvest Time on the Farm” at the Rentschler Farm Historic Museum. Noon-5 p.m. There will be guided tours of farm, crafts, kids' activities, live animals and a performance by the Saline Area Players. Food will be available. $1 admission; kids get in free. Wagon rides to the farm provided from the Commons at Sauk Trail (off Michigan Ave. just west of Industrial). The Farm is at 1265 E. Michigan Ave., Saline. 734-944-0442.
