Ann Arbor filmmaking brothers Chris and Mike Farah pull 'Answer This!' from Cleveland International Film Festival
On Wednesday, however, the film's creators took to the "Answer This!" Facebook page to announce that they were pulling the film from CIFF's lineup.
The note on Facebook explained: "We had to make an incredibly difficult decision and turn down CIFF, so we won't be screening there. "Why? Hollywood distributors look for independent films that appear at Big Name Festivals — which unfortunately is not at this point CIFF. But those Big Name Festivals don't want you to appear at any other festivals. They want to be your premiere. So for the movie to have a shot at those Big Name Festivals we were forced to turn down CIFF. Again, one of the hardest decisions we've had to make, and I'm really sorry for disappointing people. Complicated? Absolutely. Annoying? Definitely. Necessary? Unfortunately. "Let's hope that we can announce one of these mysterious Big Name Festivals sometime soon. It's a long journey, and it ain't easy!"
"Answer This!" stars Chris Gorham, Nelson Franklin, Arielle Kebbel, and retired U-M English professor Ralph Williams, and tells the story of a grad student who gets involved in the world of competitive pub trivia while struggling to step out from the shadow of his academic superstar father (played by Williams).

You know what nobody in the entertainment industry looks for? People who renege on their commitments. The entire enterprise is based on trust. Now you aren't showing at CIFF, you've pissed everyone there off, and most likely this movie is not going to get in anywhere "big," because it doesn't have any names and wasn't very good. Unless you already are scheduled for a premier in one of these fabled "big" places, this was the ultimate boneheaded move. I suggest you hire an agent right now, or if you have one, fire them right now and get a competent one.
