Ann Arbor Book Festival announces 2012 lineup of events

This year's Ann Arbor Book Festival happens Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, in downtown Ann Arbor, and on the U-M central campus Diag area, with many (mostly free) events on offer.

Check out this lineup:

4:30 p.m. Friday: Opening reception in the Hatcher Graduate Library Gallery, with a special celebration of Michgan and Ann Arbor children's authors.

7 p.m. Friday: Adam Mansbach, author of The New York Times bestseller "Go the F*** to Sleep" and other notable books.

8 p.m. Friday: Moonlight book crawl with author readings at several local bars and restaurants

8:30 a.m. Saturday: Authors Breakfast at the Hatcher Graduate Library (registration fee required)

10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday: writers' conference, Mason-Haven Hall (registration fee required)

2-4 p.m. Saturday: children's activities (music, games, story-telling) on the U-M Diag

3 p.m. Saturday: Merrie Haskell, author of "The Princess Curse," at the Shapiro Undergraduate Library.

4 p.m. Saturday: Christopher Paul Curtis, Newberry award winning auhor of many notable childrens books.

6-10 p.m. Saturday: moonlight book crawl with author readings at several local bars and restaurants.
