Online company Shirt.Woot! raises funds for 826 Michigan on Wednesday with the one-day sale of a special T-shirt. Every shirt sold, available for $10 (including shipping), benefits the nonprofit youth writing organization.

Designer of the shirt is Chris Ware, the Eisner Award-winning graphic novelist and cartoonist behind the "Acme Novelty Library" series and a frequent art contributor to 826 co-founder Dave Eggers' McSweeney's publishing house. The T-shirt will feature the robot from his graphic novel "Jimmy Corrigan: 'The Smartest Kid on Earth,'" though the actual design remains secret until available for purchase.

The shirt goes on sale at Shirt.Woot! at 12 midnight Central/1 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday. (Get it? 8/26.) If the shirt doesn't sell out during Wednesday, it will be available at The Shirt.Woot! Back Catalog but will cost $15 (including shipping).

Update: Check out the design below.

Thanks for clarifying that, Amy. From the press release it sounded like only the 8/26 sales benefited you guys. I'll take out that last little bit from the entry. Kudos, by the way, on securing such a cool fundraiser!

Hi Chrysta! Thanks for posting this. I wanted to mention that shirts sold after 8/26 STILL benefit us! In fact, we get a flat rate tomorrow, no matter how many we sell, and after 8/26, we get $2 a shirt, so, in theory, we actually get MORE money if people get their shirts after 8/26. So if they sell out tomorrow, don't worry! You can still get your shirt on Thursday, and it still benefits 826michigan. [:|]

Agreed! I'll be lurking at my computer at, like, 12:59:45 for this one. It'll sell out FAST, which is unfortunate for all of the fans of Ware and 826 who might get left out, but great for 826.

Chris Ware is pretty much the best.
