NO. NO NO, At no point will Richard Deitering agree to any gas tax increase. Michigan needs to increase jobs not taxes, the more people are working the more the State will have in the bank. Actually Richard Deitering is proposing a change in the multiplier of the Headlee amendment that would decrease Property taxes by 50%, until Michigan recovers. Michigan will only bring back jobs and therefore State revenue by making business feel welcome in this wonderful State. Michigan needs to reward business for each percentage point of it's labor force that it brings to Michigan. Increasing the gas tax will only make it more difficult on those who are looking for work.
Yes, with new technology we can place non violent criminals under house arrest, and instead of the tax-payer paying to feed and care for criminals, we can make them pay restitution through work programs, Make the criminal pay for his own incarceration, by making them pay for their own tethers, and feeding them selves.
They should pay the same.
Richard Deitering opposes, any single part of the State constitution can be changed already by the vote of the people, A Con Con would only open up a way to black mail the citizens into accepting things they oppose just to retain freedoms they already possess. If Michigan wants a change let them vote as Items come up.
Yes.
The MBT needs to go completely away. instead of Taxing business out of Michigan, Richard Deitering proposes eliminating the MBT, as well as a declining income tax that would decrease based on the percentage of the company's work force that is in Michigan, as well as a cross the board property Tax cut of 50% for at least 10 yrs. To help Michigan recover. This would also involve cutting spending across the board at the State level. But revenue will increase with this plan, more people will be working, and Business will want to stay in Michigan.
Not only should public owned schools consolidate but The State needs tp uncap the number of Charter Schools.
Yes it has worked, what failed was the spending by the Government, at this point Richard Deitering would recommend not only decreasing of property taxes by changing the multiplier in the tax code, but also an across the board cuts in the budget, elimination of all discretionary spending.
Richard Deitering supports tax reform. He would endorse an elimination of state employment tax as well as property taxes all together and would replace it with a more aggressive sales tax, so that those that have more to spend will pay more, and those who are visiting Michigan will also pay towards their use of Michigan resources.
Yes, Richard Deitering believes that the unions have become so large that they no longer protect the workers they state to represent. the workers anymore could do a better job negotiating for themselves, than a union that is no longer appreciative of it's members., also with the regulatory groups such as OSHA, issues of safety are protected. Business is a private enterprise and should be allowed to sink or swim. If a business is not competitive with the work force, it will lose workers. Let them compete.
Richard Deitering while serving as Township Supervisor, became aware of the Government Budgeting process, he has the knowledge of locating long overlooked waste and eliminating that waste. In the event that a budget can not be agreed upon Richard Deitering would motion that the Legislative branch and Executive branch for go any pay until a balanced budget is achieved.
Our great State has been running business out of it's borders, while at the same time neglecting areas of waste in our budget, Richard Deitering will commit to making Michigan more attractive to business to return to Michigan as well as enticing business to bring even more of it's work force back here to Michigan where it belongs.
