Ypsilanti Rotary Club honors five Washtenaw County seniors during annual Rotary Scholarship Luncheon

The Ypsilanti Rotary Club honored five local seniors during the annual Rotary Scholarship Luncheon May 6 at Eastern Michigan University.

This year's recipients are John Davis (left), Ypsilanti High School; Jevona Moore, Washtenaw Technical Middle College; Megan Kowalski, Early College Alliance at EMU; Paul Akande, Washtenaw Technical Middle College; and Ruthie Blower, Father Gabriel Richard High School.

Students who exemplify the Rotary principle of "service above self" are selected to receive college scholarships.

Ypsilanti Rotary Club meets weekly at the EMU Student Center and is a civic organization dedicated to the promotion of education and to improving the quality of life for others. The club annually sponsors the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival pancake breakfast with all proceeds going toward funding the scholarship program.
