Why the CEO of Barracuda Networks likes Ann Arbor's talent pool

Jenkins, who projects Barracuda could top $300 million in revenue this year, said it’s easier — and less expensive — to hire in the Ann Arbor market.
"It is much easier for us to find the type of people we need there," Jenkins told the Silicon Valley Business Journal. "We are a relatively small fish in a big pond in Silicon Valley. In Michigan we are one of the only fish in that pond."
Barracuda recently completed a major expansion when it relocated from Depot Street to Maynard Street in downtown Ann Arbor. The company has been hiring several employees each month and now employs more than 200 people in Ann Arbor. Jenkins is also looking for a larger office in Silicon Valley.

It's easier to find a better job in Silicon Valley without moving. In Ann Arbor, you're at the top of the food chain, which leads to employment security for the employer.

this is a really good point in the article... ""It costs 1.5 to 2 times more per employee in Silicon valley than in Ann Arbor.""
