Walt Rostykus, vice president at Humantech, receives safety professional of the year award
Humantech Inc. Vice President and Ergonomics Engineer Walt Rostykus in June received the Safety Professional of the Year award presented by The American Society of Safety Professionals.

Rostykus was recognized during ASSE’s 100th Anniversary Professional Development Conference June 12-15 in Chicago. Of the 500 members in the Ergonomic Practice Specialty, he was selected for being, “one of the highest contributors of the group in terms of volume and quality of input”, according to Krista Sonneson, manager of practice specialties of ASSE.
Currently, Rostykus serves as newsletter editor of the Ergonomics Practice Specialty and has been instrumental in publishing their latest version. In addition, he has been an annual presenter at the ASSE conference and served in an advisory role when the Ergonomics branch was being formed and developed into a practice specialty.
Rostykus is a Certified Professional Ergonomist, a Certified Safety Professional and a Certified Industrial Hygienist. In the past, he has served as an Environmental Management System Lead Auditor. He is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Semiconductor Environmental Safety & Health Association
