With the economy continuing to slowly make its way back from the doldrums, getting a job and keeping it is the number one priority for many. Job seekers range from recent college graduates to senior citizens, and while there have been job fairs across the county in recent weeks, the private sector job market is still tight.

To help potential hires and those already working, the Wall Street Journal came up with a list of the top four skills employers will be looking for in 2013, regardless of age or profession.

While the number one skill, “Clear communication,” might seem like a no-brainer, some of the tips down the list could be helpful for those wondering what they have to do to get snag their job or avoid the hot seat.
