Wolverines like solar power — it's patriotic.

Former University of Michigan quarterback Tom Brady, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, dropped by a fundraiser Saturday for the U-M solar car team in Massachusetts.

Brady chatted with U-M engineering students and got a close look at Quantum, the team's recently redesigned solar car.

The fundraiser, which benefited the solar car team, took place at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum and drew a number of U-M alumni.

The solar car team, which has won the North American Solar Challenge six years in a row, wants to win the prestigious 1,800-mile World Solar Challenge in Australia. That competition takes place in October.

The team members completely redesigned the car in the latest off-season to shed weight and improve its aerodynamic qualities. They took it apart piece by piece and cut out about 180 pounds, an achievement that should improve the car's efficiency.

"The trip to Boston was a great chance to show people the improvements we have made with Quantum (and) why we think we have a great chance at winning the world," team member Eric Hausman wrote in a blog post.

"Wolverines like solar power — it's patriotic." Who wrote that? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I don't see any patriots at that socialist school anyway.

Based on your name you aren't one who confuses facts with stupid rhetoric. Tax rates are lower than at any time since BEFORE WW2. If you were paying taxes before WW2, you are mooching far more than you ever paid with your SS benefits. Let's see the ways solar is better for the world than ANY form of power. 1. No emissions. Whether you believe in climate change or not, not a single person thinks more emissions from cars is a god thing 2. Renewable- ok, not totally. It is estimated that the sun will run out of power in about 4.5 BILLION years. I think we can handle that risk 3. Its cost. No corporate entity can monopolize it. No country can claim it as their own. It is FREE for all to use. 4. No danger from waste or accidents that might happen. Terrorists fly a plane into a solar panel and you kill people in the plane. Fly it into Fermi and see what might happen I suppose in your world it must be socialist to not allow corporations (since you right wingers think they are people) to own and control everything. It is what you are all about. Don't let facts get in the way of your arguments, the right wing never does.
