The Ravens Club now likely to open in late April in downtown Ann Arbor's ex-Full Moon bar
The original vision for The Ravens Club included an opening by St. Patrick's Day, but now co-owner Chris Pawlicki said it'll take at least another month to finalize the launch of the bar/restaurant replacing the Full Moon in downtown Ann Arbor.
"I think we'll shoot for late April," said Pawlicki, who also owns Old Town on West Liberty.

However, he said, the amount of work escalated as crews and city inspectors found some infrastructure issues to update.
"There was just so much work," he said. "It's unbelievable."
But he added that the restaurant — which he says will have a Prohibition-era feel — also is close to looking the way he wants.
"The interior decorator is pretty much done, and contractors are moving stuff out," he said.
Still on the to-do list: installing some upholstery, which is on order, and receiving new tables and chairs, which also have been ordered.
Staffing is taking shape, too, Pawlicki said. Some waitstaff have been hired, and he expects hiring for key kitchen positions to take place this week.
Opening in late April still positions the establishment to capitalize on the summer dining season in Ann Arbor.
The only surprises Pawlicki has encountered in the process, he said, is price and timing.
"I'm just surprised at how everything is so expensive and takes twice as long as we would think," he said.

I'm definitely excited for this to open. It's a great space, and if it carries any of the charm of Old Town, it'll be a great new drinking hole on Main Street.

I just hope they kept the "wall of foam" plaque. It was and is my only trophy.

While they'll miss the big influx of money from the St. Pat's Day crowd, it's probably best in the long run that they wait. Building issues aside, the staff and work flow would not be nearly efficient enough to handle a large group of drinkers so soon after opening. It might create a bad first impression and cost them in the long run.

I've liked this place the few times being there, but it sure seems to have a different name every couple of years......

Ah, you have never been to "this place". It's a new place in the space of a former restaurant.
