Small business lending down in Michigan for 2009
Fewer loans were written under federal Small Business Administration guidelines in Michigan during 2009, according to a new report.
Forty-two percent fewer loans were written by the SBA, representing a 25-percent drop in dollar volume, according to a story published today by Business Review West Michigan.
A total $236.5 million in small-business loans were written in Michigan in fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30. Few were writted early in the year; however, an uptick in lending volume started in July.
