Downtown Saline's former Little Caesars space attracting high level of interest
The owner of the downtown Saline property formerly occupied by a Little Caesars franchise is actively seeking new tenants for the space.
When the franchise at 100 S. Ann Arbor St. closed abruptly in October, it was not immediately clear whether it was closed for good.
But the franchise has not reopened, and a real estate broker who's marketing the site said Little Caesar's had not expressed interest in opening a new franchise at the site.
Bob Andrus of Michigan Commercial Realty LLC said he's been impressed by the high level of interest in the site among prospective new tenants.
"It seems to be very popular," he said.
The 1,770-square-foot space, which is located about a hundred feet south of the intersection of Ann Arbor Street and Michigan Avenue in downtown Saline, is listed at an annual rental rate of $14.24 per square foot, triple net. The space already has a pizza oven and walk-in freezer.
"So hopefully that will work for somebody who likes the space," Andrus said. "If not, we’ll go to other uses."
According to state records, the property is owned by a limited liability company registered to Linda Murawski, co-owner of Waggles 'N' Whiskers, which also operates out of the building. Murawski was not available to comment.
"I think it’s one of those things where the owner of the building would just like to get somebody in there who's a nice long-term tenant," Andrus said.
He added: "Downtown Saline has always been a very nice, small retail community. The community itself supports their downtown. There really aren’t many vacancies, if any, and if there are, they don’t last long."
A representative for Little Caesars did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.
