Each year for the last fourteen years the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce has presented the Business Enterprise Award to two exceptional area businesses. These awards are widely recognized as being the most prestigious honor a business can receive in the greater Saline area market. The awards are given in two size categories: one for businesses with 21 employees or more, and a second for businessese with 20 or fewer employees.

This year the award in the 21-or-more employees category went to Liebherr Saline consisting of Liebherr-Aerospace Saline Inc. and Liebherr Gear Technology & Automation Systems Inc., located at 1465 Woodland Drive in Saline.

The award recipient in the smaller category of 20-or-fewer employees is Hartman Insurance Agency Inc., located at 111 N. Ann Arbor St. in Saline.

The purpose of the Business Enterprise Awards is to recognize established, successful firms that have exhibited exemplary business practices and have an excellent reputation for service to the community. Community participation and peer recognition are also important components of the Business Enterprise Awards. Honorees are selected by the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, with nominations taken from the entire Saline area community.

Recognition was also given to Kim Rhoades, original founder and current managing member of Rhoades Doehrer & Associates PLLC for his professional lifetime achievements.

All the recipients were honored at a gala awards dinner to on Oct. 21 at Stonebridge Golf Club in Ann Arbor.
