Paparazzi: Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum hosts 2010 Creature Feature fundraiser

Creatures from around the world provided a unique, interactive learning experience for families at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum 's 2010 Creature Feature. This 8th annual fundraising event was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.

This year’s Creature Feature also featured the grand opening of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum’s new exhibit, Great Lakes Discovery, presented in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is committed to making learning engaging, enjoyable and interactive," said executive director Mel Drumm.

"Creature Feature is a marquee event because it aligns with the Museum’s mission and provides an opportunity for a unique and fun family night out.”

Children visited this owl during the event.

Animals attending the Creature Feature included kangaroos, an Australian laughing kookaburra, scorpions, snakes, lizards, snapping turtles, an alligator, iguana and birds of prey.

At Creature Feature, animal experts, as well as experts from NOAA, were on hand to answer questions and facilitate interaction.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum provides more than 250 interactive exhibits and attracts more than 200,000 visitors every year. The mission of the museum is to inspire people to discover the wonder of science, math and technology.
