Noodles & Company brings bike delivery concept from Michigan State University to the University of Michigan
It may be winter, but Ann Arbor residents might notice an influx of bike riders around Noodles & Company on State Street this month since the eatery introduced delivery to patrons.
“Our goal is to always find new ways we can serve our customers and one thing they have been asking for is delivery,” explained director of marketing, Michael Endres. “We actually started bike delivery at MSU’s campus a few months ago as a test and it has been a huge success. Once we had any kinks worked out, it made sense to expand the program to our other campus location, U-M.”
Endres said the cold temps and snowy conditions have not been an issue for the Noodles bike delivery teams.
“We looked for these employees at bike shops and bike clubs and they are extreme riders looking for challenging biking experiences.”
“If the weather were ever to be dangerous to their safety we would stop delivery until the situation improved,” Endres said.
The State Street Noodles & Company is still looking to hire five additional bike delivery staff.
Delivery is available for an additional $2 for customers within a 1.5 mile radius of the State Street Noodles & Company. Customers can order by phone for delivery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day.
A third Ann Arbor Noodles & Company location is also “in the works,” according to Endres.
AnnArbor.com previously reported Gallup Properties owner Chuck Gallup said the plans to add another Noodles & Company location fell through.
